It’s A Knockout Challenge in aid of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice
The following personnel are taking part in the It’s a Knockout Challenge in aid of the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on Sunday 30 August 2009 at Newport Football Club:

The second annual West Wight Wander was a great success in 2009.
The West Wight Wander took place on Sunday 12 July 2009 from Yarmouth Fire Station. This year the event was very successful and all 38 walkers and two dogs taking part had a very enjoyable day with blue skies and light winds. 15 walkers completed the long distance and 23 completed the short distance. The record for completing the long distance is 7hrs 34 mins.
Many thanks go to Yarmouth, Freshwater and Fire Control personnel for their assistance during the event.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who sponsored me for the swim.
The conditions were perfect although the water was a bit fresh.
In total 24 swimmers raised just over £15,000 for the Samaritans Isle of Wight branch.
